ANGEL AND PHIL: HORNIMAN CONSERVATORY
A picture perfect summer wedding…
Angel and Phil had their first wedding ceremony in New Zealand on an island overlooking a vineyard and the south pacific ocean and Phil’s proposal was equally as romantic… ‘Phil proposed to me on a surprise weekend away to Montreaux, Switzerland. We took a train to Vevey for lunch at Michelin restaurant, Le Trianon, where he proposed on the balcony with a beautiful ring on a sun soaked day overlooking snow capped mountains.’
‘I bought the dress when 4 months pregnant, had first wedding in NZ when Oscar was 2.5 months then second ceremony in London when he was 12 months. So I organised 2 weddings within that time frame. I was married on an island overlooking a vineyard and the South Pacific ocean, then the second nuptials was in a beautiful conservatory so I chose the dress because it was whimsical and had a sense of fun to match the scenery and my personality. I found Browns Bride relaxing. I had a 2 month old along to fittings so I was made to feel very comfortable.’
‘Since I already went through it once it was like a rehearsal for this event so I was relaxed and knew what not to do! E.g look and wave at the guests walking up the “isle”!’
‘Flowers followed my romantic theme of shades of white and pink clusters.’
‘We had food stations by Suzanne James catering, lovely food, it wasn’t a formal sit down.’
When asked for a top tip for other brides-to-be, Angel replied: ‘On the day have eyes for your husband only because it’s the union of the two of you, no one else. Don’t care about anything or anyone else, if you rip your dress dancing or a marquee flies away it will add to the story of a life time.’
‘The thing that made my wedding stand out was the personal song my husband wrote which his musician friend sang directly after vows. The incredible atmosphere knowing everyone was there to have a great time to party and share the love.’
