FREYA ROSE BLOG TAKEOVER: DAY 4
I wake up at 7am and start the day with some yoga to instill a sense of calm before my three year old son wakes up.
We have a healthy breakfast and leave the house at 8.15am, as I drop my son off at nursery for 8.30am.
I am so lucky to be able to walk to work each day and do so through New River in Islington. New River is an area of natural beauty and tranquillity. You feel a million miles away from city life and it’s urban influences. It enables me to switch off and absorb a natural environment before entering back into the hustle and bustle of Angel (Islington), where my office and showroom is located.
I try and pick up a coffee on route from Camden Passage’s Coffee Project that conveniently sits over the road from my office.
My staff are briefed about the Spanish trip and the influences emerging for the new collection.
Every day is so different, which I love, as it keeps me stimulated.
I have a meeting this afternoon with my Parisian lace supplier. I always get so excited by their new innovations as it gives me so much creativity for my next collections. Today I saw lace that uses metallic latex thread that can be dyed.
I finish the afternoon finalising the embroidery on our Mara design for 2015. I always create the first sample design, which I love. I adore embroidery and embellishment and travel the world sourcing ideas and inspiration. From that point, I train my highly skilled embroiderer to replicate the design for future creation.
