Alice grew up in the Surrey countryside before moving to London where she studied at St. Martins, followed by Goldsmiths College of Art. After having received her MA in textiles from the RCA, Alice moved to Antwerp to work as an embroidery designer for Dries van Noten. During her studies she worked frequently for Tracey Emin, producing her hand-embroidered art works.

Alice Archer’s bridal collection features special techniques which combine embroidery and print through the use of hand, digital and Irish Machine Embroidery. Her pieces are made in Como, Italy using only materials and manufacturers of exceptional quality. The most lavish of Alice’s dresses has over 1,500,000 embroidery stitches. The shapes are feminine and modern but with historic references, made from the softest silks and fine tulle layered over print. The collection comprises five outfits and a veil, and includes dresses, a trouser suit and  two piece set.  The collection varies in styles; featuring everything from tailored blazers to delicate tea length dresses. Each piece is embroidered by Alice using one of her many embroidery techniques.

“The Alice Archer woman is bold, feminine and confident… She thrives on possibility, innocence, nurturing, simplicity and a connection to nature. This is the spirit in which Alice works and this bridal collection evinces the love, time and attention which she puts into piece. Alice imbues her clothes with the deep, personal dedication she pours into her work.”

Alice’s small bridal capsule collection is very close to her heart and features a range of the specialist embroidery techniques for which she is known, including silk shading embroidery. She chose to embroider her pieces with flowers that symbolize love and marriage. Snowdrops signify hope and the idea of new warmth entering your life; myrtle is a symbol of marriage; witch-hazel is renowned for its healing power, and anemones represent luck and protection. Alice also took inspiration from the luminous and natural woodland flowers on the forest floor of Botticelli’s fifteenth century painting ‘Primavera‘.
